Travel Tips Before you leave on your vacation, be sure to read over our simple list of tips and reminders.
Passport Because of the events of 9/11, a passport is now required to travel anywhere, including the USA! Your passport is very valuable; keep it tucked away in a safe place! - Make photocopies of the identification page and any other ID you have, just to be safe. - It is now a legal requirement to have a passport for each child. Health They may seem obvious, but remembering these tips will allow you to rest easy in the southern climates. - Your medical prescriptions should always be in their original packaging. - Make sure you've had all the proper vaccinations.
Finances You need to know all the ways you can pay for things at your destination. Plan for a variety of payment methods to avoid scrambling to find the proper tender. - Cash: it's never a bad idea to have a bit of local currency, and US dollars always come in handy. - Canadian travellers cheques aren't always accepted everywhere. International traveller's cheques may be a better choice, depending on your destination. Handy Tips - Do your budget and know your spending limit. - Travel light so you have room for those souvenirs you promised to everyone back home. - If you're travelling alone, let friends know your itinerary and be sure to register at the embassy or consulate once you arrive. |
